Blankiet Estate

The vineyards are located in the western hills of Yountville in the Napa Valley. Paradise Hills Vineyards have been planted on three steep and rocky knolls looking down the valley. Their backyard (the Mayacamas Mountain Range) is densely forested with oaks, madrones, bays and tall pines. Planted with primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Claude Blankiet has spared no expense.

The talented Martha McClellan Levy has taken over the winemaking responsibilities from Helen Turley in September 2006. Martha works with many of the “cult wines” from California and brings to Blankiet a respect for terroir and a passion to express each sites personality. Working alongside David Abreu, who developed and manages the vineyards, the goal at Blankiet is to create an ultra premium world class Napa Winery.

“This is an amazing operation on the hillsides overlooking the huge Dominus/Napanook estate. A complex set of caves and a remarkable, nearly surreal chateau grace the property. Winemaker Helen Turley, working with her viticulturist husband, John Wetlaufer, is fashioning some spectacular, potentially long-lived wines that will need some cellar time for those lucky enough to latch onto a few bottles. Everything to date has been aged in 100% new Taransaud barrels for 18-19 months and then bottled unfiltered.”
