Colgin Cellars

Founded in 1992, Colgin Cellars produces exquisitely endowed, handcrafted wines from exceptional hillside vineyards in the St. Helena area of Napa Valley. Only the finest neo-classical winemaking methods are used in concert with small yields, gentle handling, attentive sorting and meticulous blending to capture the distinctive terroir characteristics of Colgin wine. These highly sought-after bottlings are a definitive reflection of owner Ann Colgin’s deep respect for tradition, passion, for detail and uncompromising pursuit of excellence.

Colgin Cellars currently produces four wines: Tychson Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Cariad Napa Valley Red Wine, IX Estate Napa Valley Red Wine and IX Estate Syrah. These highly sought-after wines are available only through mailing list and select restaurant lists. Colgin’s highly-acclaimed Herb Lamb Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, which was produced 1992-2007, may still be found on top restaurant wine lists and at auction.

The Colgin Winery is located at IX Estate, (“Number 9 Estate”) high above Lake Hennessey, on a secluded mountaintop in the Pritchard Hill area of St. Helena. Up a long and winding road that bends through oak groves and vineyards, IX Estate is nestled in steep hillsides of optimal soil and slope, embraced by a most agreeable climate. Wine connoisseur and critic Robert Parker considers IX Estate “as close to a viticultural nirvana as I’ve ever seen.” (The Wine Advocate)
